Hola!

I am Adriana Navarro-Sainz, a user experience designer and researcher deeply interested in the intricacies of human behavior, technology and design. Experienced in mixed-methods research and design, I am passionate about translating research insights into design principles.

Currently, I work at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation where I craft patient-facing and research-focused digital systems to improve patient experience and accelerate scientific discovery. I am also pursuing a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) at the School of IT at the University of Cincinnati working under the supervision of Dr. Annu Prabhakar.

Prior to this, I obtained a Master of Design (MDes) from DAAP at the University of Cincinnati. While pursuing my masters, I was employed as a research fellow at Live Well Collaborative where I was tasked with solving complex user experience problems employing human-centered methodologies for large companies such as Procter and Gamble, GE Aviation, Kroger, United Healthcare, The Boeing Company, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. As a graduate student, I had the opportunity to join Hewlett Packard as an intern to explore opportunities for voice-user interfaces to be integrated into printing experiences. Before, I worked as a digital designer for various industries ranging from retail to advertising in Mexico and Canada.

Having lived in four countries has equipped me with the ability to embrace change and be highly tolerant of ambiguity. As a team player, I thrive in diverse teams where multiple points of view collide. As an ambivert, I equally enjoy connecting with people and locking myself in a room for days to dive into research as well. Aside from the UX universe, I am a non-fiction bookworm, an outdoors and cycling enthusiast, a wannabe photographer, and an avid traveler.
